History
Jordan F1 was founded by Eddie Jordan in 1991, following his departure from the F3000 racing series. Jordan’s ambition was to establish a successful Formula One team that could challenge the established powerhouses of the sport. In its early years, the team struggled to compete with the top teams, but gradually began to establish itself as a force to be reckoned with.
One of the team’s defining moments came in the 1998 Belgian Grand Prix, when Jordan’s driver, Damon Hill, took the team’s first-ever race win. This was a significant achievement for a team that had only been in Formula One for seven years, and it cemented Jordan’s reputation as a team that could punch above its weight.
Jordan F1’s successes continued in the early 2000s, with the team finishing third in the Constructors’ Championship in both 1999 and 2001. In 2003, the team achieved its best-ever result, finishing second in the Constructors’ Championship behind Ferrari.
In 2005, Jordan sold his team to the Midland Group, and the team was rebranded as MF1 Racing. The team continued to compete for two more seasons before being sold again and rebranded as Spyker F1.
